Information about the play:

Angela Lanyon was born in 1930 and has lived all over the British Isles. She has three children and has worked in children's theatre as Children's Writer-In-Residence at the Swan Theatre, Worcester. She has also had several positions as a Theatre Manager and Administrator and has written numerous plays for children and adults. A Taste For Murder is her second play in the Audience Participation Murder Mystery Series and it was premiered at the Swan Theatre in 2004.

The first was Murder in Rehearsal which we performed in Bilpin in 2006. A Taste For Murder involves members of the somewhat dysfunctional Banks family who are gathered to celebrate the return of the daughter-in-law plant hunter, Fiona. But there is dirty work afoot in the nursery garden. Deep seated resentments bubble to the surface and, after plenty of hints and innuendos, a murder is committed. Who did what, how & why to whom??

The play is in two parts: the first tells the story leading up to the murder. During the interval, the audience has a chance to register their guesses of the name of the victim, the name of the murderer, the motive and the method on slips of paper which are collected at the end of Interval. The second part of the story which reveals the answers is then performed. A prize is given at the end of the play to the person/s who have correctly guessed the answers to the above questions.
